Islamorada

Welcome to Islamorada

The shimmering heart of the Florida Keys

A lesser-known but much-beloved town in the Florida Keys is Islamorada, which translates to "island-dwelling.” Residents enjoy this community’s slow-paced luxury lifestyle, as well as its excellent dining, entertainment, and shopping opportunities.

The homes here range from modern condominiums with resort amenities to massive estates with private lagoons, yacht moorings, and guest villas. In between, you'll have your choice of charming beachside cabanas, luxury detached homes, or even marinas catering to live-aboard seafarers.

Islamorada is only 65 miles from Miami, so if you need a break from the laid-back island lifestyle, you don't have far to go to reach Florida's most vibrant city by boat, private aircraft, car, or shuttle.

Local Lifestyle

Islamorada exudes a casual, relaxed luxury feel. If you decide to get a home in Islamorada, you'll find yourself welcomed to a close-knit community where everyone rallies together when needed, yet privacy is respected.

Dining, Entertainment, & Shopping

There are several excellent restaurants in Islamorada, most with stunning views of the water. Square Grouper is a popular, modern spot that specializes in Oyster Rockefeller. The Shrimp Shack is known for its various shrimp dishes, including Southern favorite shrimp and grits, but the gator dishes set it apart from its competition. Then there's the expansive outdoor seating and delectable menu served at Islamorada Fish Company, where you can dine on conch fritters while watching the local manatees float by.

There's often live music at local restaurants and bars, particularly at the beachside Lorelei Restaurant & Cabana Bar or the SandBar Rooftop Lounge. Islamorada has several boutique shops, and you can find them scattered throughout town or at Village Square at The Trading Post

Things to Do

Wherever you go in the Florida Keys, you'll find access to the best scuba diving, snorkeling, sportfishing, and beachcombing opportunities. However, Islamorada has its special attractions. Catch a dolphin or sea lion education and entertainment show, or even swim with the wildlife at Theater of the Sea. The History of Diving Museum is always a hit with underwater adventure buffs, and the 45-acre Founders Park has a public pool, tennis courts, sports fields, playgrounds, and a beach.

Locals love to pamper themselves at Ciao Bella Salon and Day Spa offers a la carte spa services, mani-pedis, massages, and hair styling. Destination wedding bridal parties know this is the best place to get made up for the big event.

Islamorada Real Estate

Islamorada, located in the Florida Keys, currently offers a real estate market that favors buyers. This means there are more homes available than there are people looking to buy. This situation is largely due to rising interest rates, making home loans more expensive. Additionally, there are more homes listed now than before, as many homeowners are selling, anticipating further rate hikes.

If you're thinking of buying in Islamorada, the timing is favorable. However, be prepared: the market is competitive. To stand out, consider getting a mortgage pre-approval, which shows sellers you're serious. Also, be open to spending some time searching for the perfect home. Living in Islamorada comes with perks like beautiful weather and outdoor activities such as snorkeling. There are also plenty of restaurants and shops, and it's known for being safe and family-friendly. Just note, the cost of living is higher, and traffic can get busy during peak times. In short, Islamorada presents a buyer-friendly market with lots to offer.
